The price of one share of stock in a company varies daily. Since stock markets are open all over the world and, in some cases, shares are being traded twenty-four hours a day, the prices may vary minute by minute. The information is recorded as a positive or negative change from the previous day’s price at the close of the stock market. In this activity, you will check on the prices for several companies. Before logging on, think of four companies whose prices you want to check. Make sure you know the parent company’s name; for instance, you won’t look up “Chevrolet” but “General Motors.” |
