Checking the Circuits |
Complex fractions are found in many applications in physics—optics, mechanics, astronomy, and many others. One of the simplest applications is the study of electrical circuits. In this activity, we will use Ohm’s law to investigate electrical circuits. |

A Two-Resistor Circuit When the Java applet finishes loading, you will see a series circuit diagram. The jagged lines represent the resistors, the red and blue parallel lines are the battery, and the oval is the ammeter, which measures the current. As you change the resistance or voltage, notice how the current changes. Check your answers to the preceding problems and, if time permits, experiment with other values. If you wish, click the “Back” button at the bottom of the screen and select other interactive circuits. http://www.phys.hawaii.edu/~teb/optics/java/resist2/index.html |
