Multiplying Decimals

Multiplying decimals (expressed to tenths) is similar to multiplying fractions. Thus multiplication always uses 10 rows and 10 columns, meaning that the product is shown on a hundredths grid.

For example, to model 0.3 x 0.7: The 21 pink sections represent the product. 0.3 x 0.7 = 0.21

Use more than one grid to model a factor greater than 1.
